Mile Stojkoski is 42 years old from Prilep, republic of Macedonia. In the year 1996 he had an injury in accident and from then he use an invalid chair.
Guided by his primary premise that he, as an adult member of this society should serve to it, in his live as man with disabilities he is giving his best in those things that he can. Within his capabilities he is trying to help those people that are in greatest need. Knowing the position of the persons with disabilities in every society, the problems that they are facing with, and the obstacles that those people are having during solving their existential issues. He has narrowed his efforts towards reinforcement of people with disabilities, for their active involvement in everyday socio-political and economic living, not to close them self’s but freely to show their skills, inventiveness and qualities. All through carrying and disseminate the massage of peace through the Sport’s Olympic spirit.
After his participation in the Athens Olympic games in 2004, Mile Stojkovski and his organization the NGO Humanitarian Organization VENERA started the new project of traveling Euroasia to the Olympics in Beijing, China in2008. The traveling team wants to visit 31 countries carrying the message to persons with disabilities that they can accomplish much, and also the message for peace and mutual understanding to pass to the people of the world.
Mile Stojkovski is aware that this activity, is requesting and will request tremendous efforts. Physical preparations lasted for 2 years, through trainings to prepare him for the big journey to Peking. In the same time he was aware that the organization of this voyage will cost a lot and will need huge efforts not only from him but also from the people that will be beside him during the traveling, this especially more, because the journey lasts more than 12 months, till August 2008.
Main goal of this project is establishing an Open Fund for Helping People With Disabilities, which will support vital infrastructural projects in Macedonia for creating sustainable conditions for people with disabilities. All money that the project Skopje – Beijing 2008 will gather, are spent on the traveling costs or included in the Open Fund.
After the journey to Beijing Olympics ends (August 2008), the organization and its partners will organize the gathered funds in the past period of 2 years and will form a new Foundation for support of the people with handicap in Macedonia. In the governing board the Foundation will include representatives of all partners significantly involved in this project and all actors relevant to the range of work. This Foundation with support of a Consortium of donors will work on creating infrastructure capacities for physical and social rehabilitation and resocialization for people with handicap by all defined world standards.
The Project Beijing 2008 uses the Six Sigma methodology in order to achieve its goals more efficiently and with greater impact on the targeted group – people with physical disabilities in Macedonia. This project will include the following phases:
- defining the issues needed to be solved;
- research that will provide objective and valuable data on national level about the handicap population and the conditions they live in;
- analysis for the gathered data in the research and all involved stake holders;
- design for future action that will result with change – by this project focused on creating infrastructure capacities for physical and social rehabilitation and resocialization;
- action will be implementing the planned with support of donors and sponsors in a Consortium as a partner body to a newly created Foundation for support of handicapped people in Macedonia;
- evaluation that will help us learn the level of effectiveness of the implemented action and a chance to optimize it and if successful, to implement it somewhere else needed or upgrade it for even greater effectiveness.
